Feed Your Imagination (F.Y.I)

Welcome to F.Y.I 2025

With Singapore changing so rapidly, I find it harder to recall my childhood through my surroundings. My HDB estate looks nothing like it did when we first moved in, and my primary school has been rebuilt and renamed.

Instead, my growing-up years come back to me through the theme songs of shows I raced home to catch after school, the stories and poems I studied in language and literature classes, the assembly plays I watched in school, and the performances I attended with my classmates at Esplanade. These stories, sights, and sounds were my companions as I grew into adulthood.

At 60 years old, Singapore looks incredibly different from the nation we were when we gained independence in 1965. While I will never know first-hand the powerful winds of change that swept through the country then, what continues to move and inspire me—and many of my peers—are the stories of love, courage and selfless sacrifice from that era.

The lineup for F.Y.I. 2025 draws on these very stories from Singapore’s formative years, capturing the spirit of our nation’s journey and growth. We hope they inspire you and your students to dream passionately and boldly about your own futures and Singapore’s. We look forward to celebrating Singapore’s 60th birthday together with you at F.Y.I.!
