Day 1
21 Jun, Sat
6.30pm – 7pm |
freereina!
freereina! is a project about catharsis. Their dense, euphoric songwriting weaves through a multilayered DNA: equally indebted to Japanese indie rock’s emotive maximalism, hypergaze assaults via Shibuya-kei terrain; math-y emo confessionals dripping through glittering electronics; stream-of-consciousness lyricism accompanying indie-pop sweetness. Born from a new age of digital melancholia, their wall of guitars craft songs that resonate with a deep piercing blue.
7.15pm – 7.45pm |
SHINSEINA
SHINSEINA is a five-piece metalcore band from Singapore. Their love for melodic, progressive and experimental sounds inspires the band to explore various expressions while staying true to their music.
Their recent EP, Hell and Wonder, brings an aggressive sonic experience without forgoing melancholic melodies that resonate with listeners.
8pm – 8.30pm |
Fern
Fern, an alternative emo band formed in 2022, is a musical fusion of math rock, mid-west emo, and metalcore. They’ve shared the stage with international acts like Origami Angel (USA), Sedative (AUS), and Irrevocable (PH), and they’re just getting started.
8.45pm – 9.15pm |
haldi honey
Recruited on lesbian tinder by nerd Daxa in Singapore, haldi honey is full of math-y, poppy and jazzy bangers with varying levels of heaviness. Sticky sweet and electrifying like a hug from a Pikachu, you will dance, even if you don’t fully know how or why you’re dancing.
Day 2
22 Jun, Sun
6.15pm – 6.45pm |
whelmed
Blending mellow vocals and energetically spicy licks, these six guys craft a sonic experience that hits you on many levels.
If dream pop, pop rock, and funk are amongst your favs, you're gonna find something to love here.
Sometimes loud, sometimes chill, but never over or under — they’re just whelmed.
7pm – 7.30pm |
pines
Inspired by anything that can hype a crowd, pines is a band of schoolmates bounded by no genre, that became more than just a school project. Their sound is a mix of full and thick guitar tones, wide and intense drums, exciting guitar riffs, and relatable lyrics that are sure to tug on heartstrings.
7.45pm – 8.15pm |
Brass Basah
Brass Basah is a seven-piece band that blends ska-punk, alt-rock, jazz fusion, and J-pop into a bold, genre-bending sound with local flavour. With a mission to make non-mainstream music like ska more accessible, they fuse experimental energy with catchy, dynamic arrangements. Expect face-melting riffs, syncopated horn hits, and an unapologetically playful stage presence.
8.45pm – 9.15pm |
rathmock
rathmock is a three-piece band. The band is called rathmock because they wanted to play math rock (key word: wanted.) They like to make fun music and make music fun.
This is a closed-door audition, schedule is subject to change.

1. I did not register for a ticket online. Can I still attend the auditions?
You must register for a ticket in order to enter the venue. If it appears that tickets have been fully registered, you’re welcome to come by on the day of the auditions as there may be no-shows. If tickets are available, you can register for tickets onsite at the door and enter the venue once you get your e-ticket.
2. I am below the age of 16 and I’m unable to register for an Esplanade&Me account to get a ticket. Can I still catch the auditions?
You must have a ticket to enter the venue. So if you are under the age of 16, do get a family or friend (who is older) to register for a ticket for you.
3. Can I bring my child to the audition?
Admission is open to all ages. Please be advised that the performances tend to be loud and may contain coarse language. Ear protection is highly recommended. If you have children or minors with you, you are responsible for their well-being. Please note that each child or infant-in-arms also requires a ticket to enter the audition venue.
4. Why are the performances so short?
This is the second round of auditions as part of the Baybeats Budding Band mentorship programme and not a full-length performance. As this is an audition, the shortlisted bands will present up to three of their best songs in front of you (the audience) and the Baybeats mentors. Only selected bands from the auditions will proceed to the next stage of the mentorship programme, which includes performing at Baybeats, which takes place from 30 Oct – 2 Nov 2025, Thu – Sun.
5. Can we stay throughout for all the auditions?
Yes, each ticket is valid for its respective day and you can stay on to watch all the bands scheduled to audition on that day.
6. Is re-entry allowed for the auditions?
Re-entry is allowed on a first-come, first-served basis and dependent on venue capacity at that moment. If the venue is full, for safety reasons, you have to wait until someone leaves (a one-out, one-in basis). If you have exited the venue and would like to enter again, please join the re-entry queue and keep your wristband on or have your e-ticket on hand.
7. Why am I not allowed into the venue when I have a ticket?
The number of audience members in the venue is capped for everyone’s safety. So even if you have tickets, you will not be admitted once the venue reaches full capacity. Entry into the venue is for ticket holders only, on a first-come, first-served basis. When the venue is full, you will only be admitted on a one-out, one-in basis.
8. Why is registration required when the auditions are free?
For safety reasons, the number of people in the venue cannot exceed its capacity limit. Registration helps us to manage venue capacity more efficiently, and tracks the number of people who have been admitted into the venue. This is why attendees must each have their own tickets (and why children must also be registered). Thank you for your patience!
