Support For Different Access Needs

Cognitive

A Relaxed Environment (RE) performance is perfect for those who may need to make a noise, move around, or access the toilets during the session. No modifications are made to the performance.

We present relaxed performances for those who would benefit from such environments. Besides our PLAYtime! series of theatre productions for children, Esplanade is looking into expanding the range of relaxed performances so that the arts is accessible for as many people as possible.

Mobility

Wheelchair Loan Service

Need a wheelchair? They're available for use on our premises at no charge — just call us at 6828 8377.

Accessible Toilets

Wheelchair-friendly toilets with automatic doors are conveniently located around the centre. Check the Accessibility Map above to find the one closest to you.

Accessible Parking

Designated parking lots for patrons with mobility challenges are located at both levels of the basement carpark, close to the entrances to the centre.

Lift Access

All public-access lifts at Esplanade are wheelchair-friendly.

Hand Rails

The staircases on both sides of the Concourse have hand rails to support those with mobility challenges.

Backrests

For the comfort of patrons, especially the elderly, the last row of seats at the Outdoor Theatre has been fitted with backrests.

Hearing & Vision

Assistive Listening

Our venue has an assistive listening system compatible with Telecoil-enabled hearing aids. Just arrive 30 minutes before the performance and we'll help you set up.

Guide-Dog Friendly

Guide dogs are welcome here. Let us know when making your booking and we'll make sure you and your dog are comfortably seated.

Tactile Floor Markings
