Synopsis

Art Fazil brings Cipta Cita to a close with a heartfelt performance of his original songs, joined by a lineup of talented guest artists, including singer-songwriters Tzi, Jamiel Said, Jaffar Haron, Putri Emily and Addy Cradle.

 

Come together for an evening that celebrates the craft of songwriting and the voices shaping our local music landscape.

Veteran singer-songwriter Art Fazil began his career writing songs and lyrics for well-known Singaporean and Malaysian recording artists such as Ella, Ramli Sarip, A Romzie, Ruhil, Khatijah Ibrahim and Lefthanded. Art Fazil is also known for his work under a folk group he co-founded called Rausyanfikir whose albums sold 50,000 units in the 1990s. 

 

Art’s song from his English album, Sometimes When I Feel Blue, climbed the Singapore radio chart, standing at the No. 2 spot for three consecutive weeks. It was also awarded Best Local English Pop Song 1995 at the COMPASS Awards.

 

In 2000, Art released the album Nur (The Light). It received seven nominations at Mediacorp’s Anugerah Planet Music 2001 and won in four of the categories. An alumnus of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, he has performed at London’s South Bank Centre, and with M. Nasir at the Ambassador Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. 

Jaffar Haron

Jaffar's interest in music started when he was 11 years old. Inspired by bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin as well as regional music icons like Black Dog Bone, Sweet Charity and Kembara. Sharing his passion and unity among the local musicians has been the main goal since he started. He released a self-titled EP in 2008.

Putri Emily

Putri Emily started singing at the age of seven. She took part in various singing competition and was the champion of Juara Si Cilik organised by Bulan Bahasa and a runner up of Juara Mic Junior, a reality television competition programme. Beyond music, she has also done some acting work having starred in a 13-episode drama on Suria.

 

Over the years she had released four singles and is currently studying music production at Singapore Polytechnic.

T:zi

T:zi, also known as Ahmad Tarmizi, is a Singaporean artist and singer-songwriter. He is known for his multidisciplinary work, encompassing painting, sculpture and music. T:zi's art often explores themes of spirituality, human relationships with nature, and introspection. 

Jamiel Said

Jamiel Said is a chart-topping singer-songwriter. His song Nafasku was part of the original soundtrack for Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia which starred Fazura and Shaheizy Sam, and Cincin Di Jari, on the original soundtrack for the hit teledrama Kekasih Paksa Rela, starring Remy Ishak.

  

Being a strong advocate of languages, Jamiel won a bilingual Malay/Chinese songwriting competition with Kumahu, Zaihu. The competition was organised by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre and was featured on MediaCorp and The Straits Times.

  

His recently released single Engkaulah Wanitaku can be heard on the radio and in a teledrama in Malaysia.
