Synopsis

Join the St. Patrick’s School Military Band for an exciting musical evening as they explore different styles and genres, showcasing the band’s versatility. With a history of achievements, the band will perform classic pieces, Disney and anime soundtracks and music with jazz and pop influences.

 

Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight

Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.

Artist Information

St. Patrick's School Military Band

Set up on 2 Mar 1953 as a bugle, fife and drum band, the St. Patrick’s School Military Band (SPSMB) became Singapore’s first school military band in 1957 and evolved into a concert band in the mid-1980s. Over the years, it has established itself as one of the country’s most outstanding secondary school bands. With a history of sustained achievements, the Ministry of Education (MOE) recognised the band as a Niche Programme School in 2007. In the 2023 Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation, the SPSMB upheld its standard of excellence, adding to its 17 consecutive distinctions.
