Synopsis

Immerse yourself in the rich history of pantun as well as learn the basics of writing and performing your very own pantun in this interactive workshop with founder of Pantunism, Shahril Samri!

 

This Cipta Cipta programme is held in conjunction with Esplanade's Mari Kita Main Wayang. This play-within-a-play follows a group of Peranakans who come together to stage Empat Bini, an ambitious script that is set within the illustrious walls of a royal court.

Shahril Samri is a pantun activist and the founder of hobby club Pantunism. He has conducted various poetry workshops across primary, secondary, higher and grassroots schools using his unique approach to spread the love of poetry to others. Shahril has also written many poems for events abroad as well as several verses for national events and leaders.
