Tania Goh (Spanish Dance Singapore)
Creativity has no borders and manifests in Tania’s multi-faceted experiences: from working in the public arts sector to international musicals and festival production. Her great love for flamenco sparked off when she took a sabbatical in Seville, Spain. While in the hometown of this profound art, she immersed herself in dance at the Academia de Manuel Betanzos. Over the last decade and in tandem with her studies, her profession took shape organically in the field of Spanish dance and culture. Capitalising on her ability to speak Spanish, she bridges artists from Spain to Asia-Pacific in creative, entrepreneurial ways.
Tania loves conceptualising and materialising projects of passion, be it performances, workshops, community programmes or tours. In COVID times, it’s about exploring new ways and opportunities, such as producing video-on-demand instructional courses with maestros of Spain. Tania is also keen on how flamenco evolves in Southeast Asia over the long term, far from but still connected to Spain, and interacting with local influences. Project Flamenco Southeast Asia is a collective with Indonesian, Singaporean and Vietnamese practitioners. Together, they create projects in their respective countries, such as talks, educational dance and music workshops and performances.
