“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.” – E.E Cummings
Grounded in the concept of adolescence, Chemistry of A Teenage Girl showcases the various chapters of life that makes us who we truly are love, heartbreak and acceptance. Through pop covers as well as original songs, all-girl band Stage Fright presents what it means to grow up, with music and lyrics that reflect teenage life, the fragility of their hearts and desire for love.
With a firm belief in the power of music and its role in our lives, the band hopes to inspire other youth to pursue their interests and express themselves through the arts.
Stage Fright
Stage Fright is a band comprising three 16 year olds from Methodist Girls’ School who have musical backgrounds and have developed a deep passion for the art form. The band was first formed in 2020 after producing their first song together, Brave, for their Primary six graduation. Ever since, the trio has continued to write their own originals for events such as the Singapore Youth Festival, while also jamming out to various genres in their free time.
Each member has their own unique style that distinguishes them. Lead vocalist Christy, who has played piano for most of her life, has discovered a passion for Broadway. Keyboardist and songwriter Micaella also writes poetry on top of composing pieces on the piano, while vocalist and guitarist Faith showcases her musical journey through her YouTube channel.
The band was named after the trio’s initial stage fright at the beginning of their journey. Since then, they have grown to fall in love with the stage and all the wonders of performing over the years. Stage Fright hopes that their performances may be one that not only inspires audiences to chase their dreams, but also to have fun and embrace different styles of music!
