Celebrate National Day with Nadya Zaheer and Vanessa Kee and watch them perform unique interpretations of timeless tunes that have shaped our cultural heritage. Spin the “Wheel of Decades” and catch them perform some of your favourite Singaporean melodies.
Nadya Zaheer
Nadya Zaheer is a singer and actress who graduated with a BA(Hons) Musical Theatre degree from LASALLE College of the Arts. Her theatre credits include Three Years in the Life and Death of Land (The Necessary Stage), The Paiseh Pieces (The Second Breakfast Company) and Assembly (Drama Box). If she’s not performing, you’ll find her either creating art with Strawberries Inc. or Play! Collective, singing on Instagram @nadyazaheer, or writing her own music to release with Mosta Records. She’s thrilled to be able to contribute to the Singapore arts scene and hopes to continue to do so.
Vanessa Kee
Vanessa is a leading theatre actress that aims to encourage radical empathy through her craft. She has trained under an impressive tutelage of Akiko Otao, George Torbay and Broadway's Mary Setrakian. Recently, she has been seen as Helena in Shakespeare in the Park - Midsummer Night's Dream by SRT, Kit Chan's understudy in LKY The Musical (SRT) and Maria (Rehearsal) in The Sound of Music International Tour (Broadway International). Other leading roles include the titular role Aida in AIDA the Musical (Dir. Joe Barros), Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof (Dir. Emily Maltby), Esmeralda in Quasimodo The Musical (Dir. Nathalie Ribette), Heidi in [Title of Show] (Sing'Theatre), Pangdemonium's Urinetown the Musical (Dir. Tracy Pang) and playing herself in Singapore's premiere of West End show, A Spoonful of Sherman (Dir. TJ Taylor).
