Synopsis

Experience the beauty, grace and energy of young dancers from the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS) Dance Group! Dancers from the Primary and Secondary divisions will be performing a mixture of traditional and contemporary styles of dance, showcasing both new items and familiar favourites ranging across the genres of ballet, jazz, classical Chinese and folk dance. Come celebrate their love of the language of movement!

Advisory:

No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Singapore Chinese Girls’ School

The SCGS Dance Group was the brainchild of Mrs Jean Chan, who formed it in 1974 with the encouragement and support of then Principal, Miss Tan Sock Kern.  

 

Now, the Dance programme takes students on a journey from the Primary to Secondary level, exposing dancers to a myriad of genres, ranging from ballet and Chinese dance, to contemporary dance and jazz. With a rich and extensive repertoire, SCGS has consistently earned local and international accolades in dance, and performed on multiple occasions before local and foreign dignitaries.
