This year, as Singapore marks its 60th birthday, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay celebrates the extraordinary power and diversity of the human voice through Voices – A Festival of Song. Over four inspiring days from 4 – 7 Dec 2025, we shine a spotlight on the many talented homegrown singers, choirs, and vocal ensembles who bring passion, vibrancy, and joy to our festival stages.
There is nothing more uplifting than celebrating our youth—the next generation of music-makers. Launched in 2022, our flagship mentorship programme Voices Festival Choir continues to nurture young talent. Now in its third cohort, these young choristers will helm the Esplanade Concert Hall stage on their own for the first time, under the expert guidance of the dynamic conductor-singer ensemble, Musicians’ Inc. 6 (MI6).
Across the festival, you will experience an exciting range of vocal styles—from musical theatre and opera to a cappella, choral music, and original singer-songwriter sets. Performers from our local universities and institutions of higher learning will be joined by vibrant alumni and young adult groups such as The Graduate Singers, Evokx, The Vocal Consort, Symphonia Choralis, Chroma, and The Sugar bees.
We are proud to also present original music by young Singapore singer-songwriters, including returning artists Aaron Bunac, Shahz, and Wen Fei, performing intimate acoustic sets at the Esplanade Courtyard Green. Voices continues to provide a meaningful platform to showcase songs created by the youth of the Singapore Girls’ Home through our Songwriting for Hope programme.
Another highlight this year is a special a cappella collaboration between the rising stars of The Island Voices and the award-winning MICappella where audience members are invited to sing along! Making music together lies at the heart of the festival spirit, and this year’s participatory events include singalongs at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre at Esplanade, Musical Theatre Open Mic, Karaoke Box and more. We are also thrilled to welcome The Vibes Choir, Singapore’s first Mandopop choir, making their Voices debut!
Learn about body awareness and vocal technique, and singing as therapy through ticketed workshops by vocal coaches Jingyun Ng, Dionne Lim, and Hanna Ma—perfect for singers of all levels and anyone who uses their voice. We are also proud to partner once again with The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) to deepen our collective experience through song signing and Singapore Sign Language.
As the only festival in the region to showcase such a rich and diverse spectrum of vocal expression, Voices truly offers something for everyone. Come celebrate the beauty of the human voice and the joy of shared music-making. We cannot wait to sing with you.
