Kannanin Kaviyam – Stories of Krishna

Omkar Arts started in 1987 and incorporated as a non-profit arts organisation, a homegrown dance group with over 150 students and company dancers. The company endeavours to make the arts accessible to everyone, presenting relatable and contemporary versions of traditional pieces at various community platforms, temples, as well as venues such as Mediacorp, Indian Heritage Centre and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.  Omkar Arts also hosts Kaviyum Naatiyamum Dance competition as part of Tamil Mozhi Vizha. Annually, many of their students learn and complete their margam performances to a distinguished panel of examiners. We have also hosted several student night performances with many of our students showcasing their talents. Omkar Arts was the choreographer for Chingay in 2024 and was part of the record-making event for Indian folk dance.
