Pianist, Composer, Educator and Cultural promoter.
A classically trained (National school of music in Mexico City), hard core Latin pianist who loves jazz, Alina has been performing for more than 35 years.
As a composer she is influenced by both Latin music tradition and the contemporary. She writes music for Ireson, her band as well as for theatre and dance companies. Alina is also a creative educator who studied musical education in Lyon, France. She is immensely passionate about sharing knowledge across genres.
In 2013, Alina was awarded the highest recognition given by the Mexican Government—the Ohtli Medal—in recognition for her passion in spreading the Mexican culture and the arts worldwide.
An avid learner, Alina sought to expand her musical knowledge at Lasalle College of the Arts by pursuing a degree in jazz music. She graduated with honours in 2014 and obtained a Masters degree in Arts and Cultural Management in 2018.
In 2019 she founded the Singapore Latin American Arts and Cultural center with the aim of boosting cultural exchanges. She currently teaches piano at international schools such as NLCS, Brighton college and AIS.
