Get involved in the festival as a da:ns kaki

 

Calling for volunteers! Esplanade’s final edition of the da:ns festival is looking for passionate and committed ambassadors for its 2022 festival. From 2023, we will be transforming the festival into an exciting season of dance programmes spread out through the year.

 

As a da:ns kaki, you’ll get to go behind the scenes and work closely with the festival team in a host of different roles. You’ll also meet like-minded people and of course, pick up some new dance moves along the way.

 

In appreciation of your support, all da:ns kakis will receive an official da:ns kaki festival tee and enjoy exclusive sneak peeks of the festival’s productions!

 

All da:ns kaki are required to attend a pre-festival briefing and a closing party on the final night of the festival.

Pre-festival Briefing (On-site at the Esplanade):
Session A: 24 Sep 2022, Sat, 10am-12.15pm
OR
Session B: 8 Oct 2022, Sat, 10am-12.15pm

 

Note: It is recommended to attend the earlier session, the session will not be available online. 

 

Kaki Appreciation Party:
23 Oct 2022, Sun, 9.30pm-10.30pm
da:ns festival is not possible without you, our dedicated da:ns kaki. Join our Kaki Appreciation Party as we end the last festival with a bang! Here, you can kick back, relax and enjoy the snacks we have for you. Get to know each other as we share what’s in store for the future of da:ns at the centre.

Here, your most valuable asset is your voice: Get a sneak peek at some of our festival productions and tell us what you think! Limited slots available, more details will be announced soon via email. 

Dates: 13 – 23 Oct 2022 (Multiple session slots available)
Specific dates and timings can be selected after attending the orientation and pre-festival briefing session.

Volunteers can choose from the roles below:

Hit the dance floor and pump up the atmosphere and show the festival all the moves you’ve got! What’s Your Move is our outdoor mass dance-together session at the Forecourt Garden and we want you to be the party hosts by getting everyone groovin’!  

Represent the festival by speaking to festival attendees and find out why they love da:ns! You will also help audience members with their queries and share your recommendations for programmes at the centre.

Important Notes:

 

  • Volunteers are required to sign up for at least two session slots.
  • Due to the large volume of sign-ups, we seek your understanding that only shortlisted volunteers will be notified via email, by late September at the latest.
  • Note to student-volunteers: If you require us to acknowledge your participation by completing your school’s CCA record or clocking in your CIP hours, do let us know after you have attended the compulsory briefing.
