The founders of Fort Sanctuary have worked closely with farmers and tea experts in Wuyishan, China, a region well-known among tea experts and connoisseurs for producing some of the finest teas in the world. This includes da hong pao, often touted the “holy grail” of tea. Tea leaves harvested from selected areas in Wuyishan are considered top quality ingredients in processed tea leaves, while tea processing techniques used there are comprehensive and advanced, some of which are closely guarded trade secrets.
Using the expertise, learnings and experience from their years in Wuyishan, the founders set up Fort Sanctuary to demonstrate that Singapore is capable of producing fine teas and contributing to the global tea market.
