WSQ Theatrical Rigging Programme (Part I) consists of 3 Modules covering both theoretical and supervised practical experience and this will be conducted over 12½ days including assessment.

Each of the training modules must be satisfactorily completed and participant must meet all requirements before undertaking the next level of training.

 

Participants must also go through and pass the WSQ Perform Rigger & Signalman Tasks Certification before they are allowed to take Module 2 of this course. Please refer to Ministry of Manpower website for the list of training and certification providers.

 

Objectives

The Basic Theatrical Rigging Programme is competency based and designed to meet the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) framework.

It aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely perform rigging operations in a theatrical or entertainment environment, covering elementary rigging principles, assembling and taking down rigging components and equipment.

 

Certification

Participants will be awarded the Statement of Attainment for WSQ Theatrical Rigging Programme Part 1 upon successful completion of all 3 modules in the Basic Theatrical Rigging Programme.

 

Who should attend?

Technical crew who work in the area of rigging with a strong technical background in a theatre or live performance setting.

 

Pre-programme requirements:

  • WSQ Perform Rigger & Signalman Tasks Certification is compulsory pre-requisites for Module 2.

  • Modules 1 and 2 must be completed before attending Module 3.

 

Terms and Conditions

In order to enjoy the funding, participants need to fulfil the following requirements:

  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents (PR) of Singapore

  • Successfully complete all assessments for the 3 modules of the Theatrical Rigging Programme (Part 1) to be certified competent

  • Sign an undertaking to complete all 3 modules of the Theatrical Rigging Programme (Part 1) in order to qualify for the training grant

  • Meet the minimum of 75% attendance
