Creating a beautiful piece of music is not about filling every available sonic space with multitudes of instruments blaring complex chords and notes, it is about learning to dress your music with just the right amount of musical counterpoint and appreciating the beauty of silence between the notes. It is learning to carve out a sonic space for each element placed in your musical composition, so that your music can breathe and carry the emotions that you intricately weave into it.

This course is an intensive and in-depth masterclass where participants will develop lifelong skills that can elevate your arrangements and production skills. Some of the topics covered include choosing the right instrumentation for your project; rhythmic and harmonic concepts; live vs MIDI instruments; the importance of spatial planning during the composition process; incorporating strings, synths and loops; how to mix and master your final music etc.

Participants will also learn how to write for the bass, drums, guitars, piano/keyboard, as well as how to use different instruments effectively in a modern arrangement. Participants will be assigned weekly coursework.
