This 3-day training programme combines theory and practice in relation to working behind the stage in the arts or entertainment industry.

Subsidies

This programme under Esplanade Academy, is eligible for course fee subsidy and training allowance, supported by NAC.

 

Individuals: 70% course fee subsidy
Individuals (Self-Employed Person)*: 90% course fee subsidy and training allowance of $10 per hour
Organisations (Non-Profit or Collective): 70% course fee subsidy
Organisations (For Profits): 50% course fee course fee subsidy

 

*Individuals engaged for work under a contract for service (full-time employee contract) will be eligible for 70% course fee subsidy only. Proof of self-employed status required: Copy of latest CPF Statement or Consolidated Statement of Income for Year of Assessment 2022 submitted to IRAS or (if applicable, for Sole Proprietor only) Copy of ACRA registration.

Objectives

This programme aims to equip the participant with the required skills and knowledge for basic sound operations in the arts or entertainment industry.

 

Outline

  • Audio terminologies and applications

  • Types of audio equipment, cables and accessories

  • Setting up audio equipment and dismantling sequences

  • Techniques to run microphone and loudspeaker cables

  • Continuity tester and its applications

 

Certification

Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation for Demonstrate Understanding of Basic Sound Operations when they successfully complete the course and assessment.

 

Who should attend?

Theatre Technicians or individuals who have an interest to work in technical theatre and or related industries.

 

Terms and Conditions

Participants need to fulfill the following requirements:

 

  • Must successfully complete training and assessment

  • Meet the minimum of 75% attendance

  • All participants will be required to wear safety shoes during the training programme
