Be introduced to the wonderful world of flamenco music and rhythm through percussion techniques. Participants will learn basic flamenco beats by playing on the flamenco cajón (a drum box), castanets and/or through hand claps. This is an exciting opportunity to learn different techniques from the highly accomplished artists who lead the workshop.

This workshop is suitable for intermediate to advance level musicians, but prior experience in flamenco music or playing percussion is not necessary. This workshop is led by Manuel Muñoz “Pajaro" and Antonio Suarez Salazar, who perform in da:ns festival with Sara Baras in Voces, suite flamenca.

Participants wishing to focus on drumming should bring their own cajón or other suitable percussion instruments. Participants should dress comfortably.
