In this dance workshop led by Charo Pedraja, participants will learn the basic elements of flamenco such as the Brazeo, Zapateado, Compas and Marcajes and some repertoire from Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras.
This workshop is suitable for intermediate to advance level dancers, but prior training or experience in flamenco dance is not necessary. Participants should dress comfortably and bring dance shoes (ladies to bring dance shoes with heels). Charo Pedraja is a member of Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras, performing in da:ns festival with Sara Baras in Voces, suite flamenca.
She was born in Sevilla, where she began her artistic career in various flamenco tablaos while she continued her formation under the tutelage of great artists as Eva la Yerbabuena, Javier Latorre and Joaquín Grilo, among others.
She joined Sara Baras’ company in 1999 participating in every production: Sueños (1999), Juana La Loca (2000), Mariana Pineda (2002), Sabores (2005), Carmen (2007), Esencia (2009), La Pepa (2013) and Medusa (2014). She combines her tours with Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras with the performance in the tablaos in Sevilla (Tablao Triana) and Madrid (Corral de la Moreria).
