Artist Information

Hong Shaoxuan

As one of the pioneering voices of Singapore’s xinyao movement, Hong Shaoxuan is renowned for his pure, crystalline vocals and meticulous attention to musical detail. His journey in the local music scene began in 1985, when he performed the finalist piece Lonely Heart of the Universe at the Asia-Pacific Pop Song Writing Competition. He later signed with Ocean Butterflies Music and became a recording artist, collaborating with notable composers such as Roy Loi (Li Feihui), Billy Koh (Xu Huanliang), and Liang Wern Fook.

Among his most well-loved tracks are Your Reflection, Since the Day You Looked Back, Silent Stars of Xinyu, and Another Face of Time. Beyond local compositions, Hong was also the first xinyao singer to record an album of Mandarin classics in 2007. His contributions to Singapore’s musical landscape were further recognised when he was invited to perform at the National Day Parade in 2017.

Zhang Jiasi

A prominent voice among the new generation of xinyao artists, Zhang Jiasi is a versatile singer-songwriter known for her bilingual pop compositions and unique musical style that blends jazz, R&B, and acoustic pop. She is an active member of the local collective TCR Music Station (弹唱人) and a vocalist with Singapore's youth jazz band, The Jazzlings.
Over the years, Jiashi has performed alongside acclaimed artists such as Stefanie Sun, Lee Wei Song, Dream FM, and Chyi Yu. Her original singles have garnered over a million plays on Douyin (TikTok China), reflecting her growing popularity in the digital space.

Cai Zheyi

Cai Zheyi is currently pursuing a BA (Hons) in Arts Management at LASALLE College of the Arts. From a young age, he was deeply influenced by the pop music his parents frequently played at home. In 2007, he won first place in the solo category of the Catholic High Music Awards, marking the start of his performing journey.

Zheyi went on to win national singing competitions such as Singapore Pop Music 2009 and Pop Duets 2010 with his group clinching the overall championship. During his National Service, he served as a performing artist with the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company (SAF MDC). Today, he remains an active member of the new generation of TCR Music Station (弹唱人), contributing his voice and passion to Singapore’s evolving music scene.
