Esplanade Concourse
Join Jo Kwek and Ci Xuan as they retell The Frog God, a story originally from Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. This storytelling session reimagines an unusual meeting point between humans and gods, nature and belief, set in a world where frogs reign.
Jo Kwek
Jo Kwek is an established, award-winning performer in Singapore’s film, television and theatre scenes. Selected stage credits include Animal Farm, Transplant, The Dog Who Wasn’t Useful, The Puppeteer Prepares, Murder at Mandai Camp, Citizen Dog, among many others.
Television and film credits include A Guiding Light, Am I Here, From Victoria Street to Ang Mo Kio, Filial Party, Ilo Ilo, Katong Ms Oh, among several others.
Lim Ci Xuan
Ci Xuan is a multidisciplinary artist that experiments with movement, performance, text and installation. Her work at Matter.Less explores how local literary texts can be adapted into spoken word performances and other mediums. Past work include: Don't intellectualize my sh*t (spoken word comedy), White Bird: Karaoke poetry (interactive installation), Bursting S (digital content).
