Traditional Arts Centre (TAC) was established in 2012 and is a training and resource centre for Chinese opera, currently the only overseas teaching and practice base established by the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts.

Founded by Cai Bixia, a recipient of National Arts Council’s Young Artist Award in 2008 and the Stewards of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023, TAC is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the arts of Chinese opera to the younger audience today and preserving Chinese cultural heritage. TAC actively conducts training, research and performance activities to nurture new talents for the local Chinese opera scene, identifying emerging artists and creating Hokkien opera works within the Singapore context. By incorporating new elements to attract new audiences, TAC also actively promotes cultural exchange both locally and internationally, striving to build a distinct brand of Singapore Chinese opera.
