Synopsis

Under the baton of Tan Soh Hwa and Chua Tiong Hong, Crescent Girls’ School Symphonic Band presents their 12th Limelight concert. The concert features highlights such as Merry-Go-Round of Life by Joe Hisaishi, Coldplay classics and Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

 

The band has nurtured many generations of students through performing music since its establishment in 1967. Through public platforms such as Limelight, they hope to share their passion for music to the wider community and also be a part of Esplanade’s arts outreach and engagement program.

 

Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight

 

Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.

Crescent Girls' Symphonic Band

Guided by their band motto “Et Bientot le Meilleur” (The Best is Yet to Be), the band members are constantly reminded to strive for excellence, ensuring they give their best whenever they make and share music. The band has participated and garnered numerous accolades at various music platforms, such as the Singapore Youth Festival and Singapore International Band Festival since its establishment in 1967. It has nurtured many generations of students through music education, and will continue to make music and seek to share the passion for music with the wider community.
