Synopsis

The Temasek Junior College (TJC) Choirs come together to bring you songs of hope and enchantment. Themed A Little Light Magic, the concert will feature a mix of whimsical and evocative works by composers such as John Bennet, Ola Gjeilo, Pēteris Vasks, Sergei Taneyev and R. Murray Schafer. The choirs will also present songs from the popular musical, Wicked as well as the world premiere of The Sky is Light!, a new commission by Jennifer Tham. Join the choirs as they journey through songs of day and night, casting light and spells at Esplanade!

 

 

Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight

 

Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.

The TJC Integrated Programme and Junior College Choirs have been an important pillar in Temasek Junior College’s performing arts landscape and have consistently garnered Distinction certifications in the biennial Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation. With a mission to spread the joy and passion of choral music to others, the Temasek Junior College Choirs curate a versatile repertoire of European and Asian pieces ranging from the renaissance period to the 21st century.
