The Hwa Chong Choir comprises passionate choristers from Hwa Chong Institution (College section). Under the baton of Ms Lim Ai Hooi, the choir has garnered top accolades both internationally and in Singapore.  Some of these accolades include consecutive Gold with Honours awards at the biennial Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging of Choirs from 2005 to 2011, and the Certificate of Distinction at the SYF Arts Presentation from 2013 to 2019.

In 2008, the choir won two gold medals at the 5th World Choir Games in Graz, Austria and emerged Champion in the Mixed Choir category. The choir also garnered the Public Prize and Second Prize in the Free Programme category at the 39th Florilege Vocal de Tours in France in 2010. In the same year, Hwa Chong Choir bagged two gold medals and was also named Absolute Winner of the 38th Festival of Songs in Olomouc, Czech Republic. The choir also attained First Prize cum Laude at the 60th European Music Festival for Young People held in Neerpelt, Belgium, as well as Third Prize in the Fleischmann International Trophy Competition held in Cork, Ireland in 2012. Together with the Nanyang Girls’ High School choir, the combined choir won three gold medals at the 8th World Choir Games held in Riga, Latvia in 2014.

Hwa Chong Choir presents a varied concert repertoire including well-loved classics, melodious folk songs and interesting contemporary pieces. You are invited to spend an evening with them as they reconnect over choral music after a hiatus brought about by the pandemic. The Hwa Chong Institution (High School) Choir under the baton of Mr Yong Chee Foon will make a special appearance in this concert and will showcase how the different voices within their choral family complement each other to create music.
