Cheng San Chinese Orchestra returns to Esplanade’s stage with an unforgettable performance you will not want to miss!

 

Delve into the nostalgic charm of the golden era of Chinese oldies—enjoy the beautiful melodies of Teresa Teng’s greatest hits, sing along to beloved Xinyao classics by local legend Liang Wern Fook and get a blast from the past with performances of iconic theme songs from classic Hong Kong TV series The Legend of the Condor Heroes and many more! Be part of the action as you will get the chance to vote and select songs for the orchestra to perform during the concert, making it a truly interactive and engaging experience unlike any other.

Cheng San Chinese Orchestra

Cheng San Chinese Orchestra (CSCO) was established in the late 1990s and subsequently reformed under the baton of Mr Lee Heng Quee in 2012. It is currently helmed by Mr Wilson Neo, Zhonghu musician from Singapore Chinese Orchestra, as its music director and conductor.  

 

Since its reformation, CSCO has been staging an annual gala concert series. The orchestra aims to continually challenge itself by staging highly technical and recent works, ensuring a good mix of traditional and modern Chinese orchestral compositions in their concerts. The orchestra also takes pride in providing a platform for talented members to stage concertos annually, which includes instruments spanning from Erhu, Yangqin, Pipa, Sheng to Suona, and has even collaborated with multiple local and international Chinese traditional music virtuoso.
