The Chera Legacy
by The Kalari Academy
The Kalari Academy presents a gripping showcase of kalaripayattu’s lethal elegance, transporting audiences back to the Chera Dynasty. Through fluid, powerful movements, the performance revives the ancient combat systems of South India.
Witness the progression of the Chera arsenal, beginning with the high-stakes precision of the Cheruvadi (short sticks). The intensity peaks with the mesmerising, whip-like strikes of the Urumi—the flexible longsword feared on ancient battlefields. This display honours the warrior spirit of the Villavar (bowmen) and the sophisticated combat science of the era, where every movement was a testament to the discipline and power of the Chera infantry.
Wushu – The Legacy Continues
by Martial House
Martial House unites WUsia OG and WUsia Gen II in an electrifying showcase of contemporary wushu. Be mesmerised by the diverse styles and weapons of Chinese martial arts, executed with speed, precision, and control. Through powerful choreography, sweeping movements, and striking formations, the stage comes alive with the rhythm and intensity of modern wushu. As experience stands beside youth, the performance reflects a living lineage shaped by discipline, resilience, and shared purpose. In every leap, strike, and stance, the legacy moves forward—carried by a new generation ready to shape the future of wushu.
Tanah dan Nada (Our Roots, Our Songs)
by RP Selatra (Seni Silat)
Tanah dan Nada traces the spiritual and artistic roots of Zubir Said, in his humble beginnings in Padang, West Sumatra. This piece embodies his internal struggle between tradition and artistic passion, displayed through the disciplined yet expressive art of silat. A tribute to the tanah (roots) that nurtured him and the nada(songs) that immortalised his legacy, this piece intertwines movement, music, and identity in a soulful homage.
