Esplanade Presents
14 Feb 2026, Sat, 7.30pm & 8.30pm
(Intermission: None)
Esplanade Concourse
Reunited for the stage, the National Theatre Symphonic Band (NTSB) presents a vibrant and heartfelt programme that bridges past and present. Look forward to an eclectic mix of music—from the stately elegance of Ted Hugger’s New Baroque Suite to nostalgic favourites like The Way We Were, alongside an infectious medley of big band classics. NTSB will also celebrate regional and cultural colour with works such as Stars of Tomorrow, the Japanese folk-inspired Oteyawakarani and an exuberant selection of Chinese New Year tunes. Together, these pieces reflect shared musical journeys, friendships and the enduring joy of music-making that brought this ensemble back to the stage.
National Theatre Symphonic Band
Founded in 1977 under the National Theatre Trust, the National Theatre Symphonic Band (NTSB) was among Singapore’s earliest amateur symphonic bands. This performance brings together a group of former members—old friends reunited by shared memories, music-making and a love for the wind band tradition. Reforming briefly for this special occasion, NTSB returns to the stage in the spirit of camaraderie, reflection and celebration, reconnecting past and present through music.
