Songs We Share brings together voices across generations in a heartwarming collaboration between Bendemeer Secondary School Choir and The Joyful Voices. Through familiar melodies such as Kit Chan’s Come Back When It’s Cold Outside《天冷就回来》, Fly Me to the Moon and other holiday favourites, the choirs celebrate music’s timeless power to connect hearts, cultures and communities.

Bendemeer Secondary School Choir

Bendemeer Secondary School Choir is a humble school choir that aspires to touch audiences with its melodious harmony of soprano, alto and baritone voices. The choir is a close-knit performing arts group under the loving care and guidance of patient teachers and experienced conductors. Through choral music, each member develops vocal skills and a stage presence marked by confidence and elegance. The ensemble performs a diverse repertoire of songs, ranging from classical and contemporary pieces to well-known cultural songs, showcasing the beauty of harmony and expression. Bendemeer Secondary School Choir strives to achieve excellence in its pursuit of the dream to foster joy and friendship through music.

 

This year, the choir is proud to have attained a Certificate of Distinction at the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2025 and a Silver Award at the Singapore International Choral Festival 2025. At Bendemeer Secondary School, the choir is not just about singing—it is about finding one’s voice, building character and creating lasting, fond memories together.  

The Joyful Voices

Under the direction of choral conductor, Angila Tan, this community choir has gained recognition for its exceptional performances at esteemed venues and events, including the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and the Voices of Singapore Festival 2024 at CHIJMES.

 

Its commitment to musical excellence is reflected in recent accolades, including Silver Diplomas at the Singapore International Choir Festival since 2017, with the most recent one in 2024. The consistent recognition affirms the growth and talents developed over the decade.
