An intimate recital featuring soprano, violin and piano, Finding Home reflects on the places, people and memories that shape a sense of belonging. Through lyrical works such as Misty and A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square, trace the tenderness, nostalgia and quiet beauty of what it means to find—or long for—home.
Chen Zibi, Carol (Soprano)
Carol Chen is a soprano and dedicated vocal instructor with a strong background in classical repertoire and vocal pedagogy. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance and an Advanced Diploma in Classical Vocal Studies from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
As a performer, Carol has appeared in multiple NAFA concerts and opera productions. Her significant performance experiences include an appearance at the 2024 Hong Kong Arts Festival Exchange Concert, as well as her graduation recital at the Lee Foundation Theatre in May 2025. As a vocal tutor, Carol works with children and teenagers, with a focus on developing healthy vocal techniques, music appreciation and performance skills—using engaging and interactive methods to build rhythm, pitch and stage presence.
Soh Wen Qi (Piano)
Soh Wei Qi is a Singaporean pianist. His mentors include Rena Phua, Ning An, Maestro Sergei Babayan, and Olga Radosavljevich-Gradojevich. He credits his musical style to Elena Berezkina, who has trained a lineage of accomplished pianists, including Evgeny Kissin and Alexander Malofeev.
Wei Qi has participated in both local and international competitions, with extensive achievements. In 2017, he won the Best Accompanist Award at the NAFA Vocal Competition and was awarded the Gold Prize in the Nanyang International Music Competition. That same year, he secured first prize in the Ipoh Piano Competition as well as the championship in the Piano Senior Category of the National Piano and Violin Competition (Singapore). His performance in the Lucien Wang Competition was praised by Dr Chang Tou Liang as ‘big-boned playing, full of symphonic bluster, full of robust Sturm und Drang’.
Jeremy Chiew (Violin/Viola)
A classical violist by training, Jeremy Chiew studied at the Longy School of Music under the tutelage of Dimitri Murrath and obtained a Masters in Music Performance (Viola). He was a recipient of the Patricia Sherman, ‘in honour of a high level of accomplishment, an exemplary attitude and a record of contribution to the life of the Longy community’. He actively performs as a freelance violist locally with different professional ensembles and with the Macao Symphony Orchestra. He also maintains a teaching schedule as Principal Conductor of Ngee Ann Polytechnic String Ensemble and viola section tutor of various school ensembles and Beautiful Minds Charity.
Jeremy’s own annual ‘Potpourri’ viola recitals aim to increase awareness of this lesser-known member of the string family to local audiences. These recitals have seen collaborations with Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and T’ang Quartet musicians, as well as the Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO).
