Synopsis

ITE Singer-Songwriters features students and alumni from all 3 Institute of Technical Education (ITE) Colleges who write and perform original music. They were selected for this performance from a college-wide call for submissions and went through 2 months of mentorship and writing/performance workshops. This culminated in a showcase of their work in February 2024, produced by ITE Centre for Music and the Arts (@itecemta).

 

The ITE Singer-Songwriters will inspire, surprise and move you. Step into their world of confessions, secrets, love and heartbreak. They will be accompanied by ITE alumni musicians Leonard Mikhail and Haziq Azli.

Artist Information

David Prinz

David Prinz graduated from ITE College Central with his Higher Nitec in Electronics Engineering. He is currently pursuing his Diploma in Media, Arts & Design (Sound & Music Specialisation) in Singapore Polytechnic. He performed in ITE Vocal Xchange 2022-2023.

Deena Rushda

Deena Rushda served as the Alto Section Leader of ITE Show Choir when she was a student at ITE College Central. Memorable performances include ITE Vocal Xchange 2022-2023, ITE’s 30th Anniversary Celebration and ITE Singer-Songwriters Showcase 2023-2024.

Haziq Azli

Haziq Azli is currently pursuing his Work-Study Diploma in Applied Electronics and AI at ITE College West. A two-time recipient of the prestigious Lee Kwan Yew Technology Award, Haziq was also a participant of the inaugural ITE Singer-Songwriters Showcase in 2020.

Izz Ilan

Izz Ilan is pursuing his Nitec in Lighting & Sound at ITE College West. He is the Vice President of the College West acoustic pop band, West Unplugged, and has performed at ITE Vocal Xchange 2023 and ITE Singer-Songwriters Showcase 2024. Ilan is grateful to realise his dream of performing at the Esplanade.

James Tiah

James Tiah “Crumbs” graduated from ITE College Central with his Higher Nitec in Games Art & Design. He is currently pursuing his Diploma in Design for Communication and Experiences at LASALLE College of the Arts.

Leonard Mikhail

Leonard Mikhail graduated from ITE College East and will receive his Diploma in Music from LASALLE College of the Arts this year. Memorable performances include ITE Vocal Xchange 2018-2019, ITE Singer-Songwriters Showcase 2020-2024 and Wild Rice’s Don’t Call Him Mr. Mari Kita.

Naomi Aviona

Naomi Aviona Manzanares is pursuing her Higher Nitec in Interactive Design at ITE College Central. She is an active member of ITE That Acappella Group, and has performed at ITE Vocal Xchange 2023 and Esplanade Voices Festival 2023. She also serves in the Worship Ministry at Lighthouse Evangelism.

Poh Wen Fei

Poh Wen Fei graduated from ITE College Central, where he served as the Bass Section Leader of the ITE Show Choir. He is currently serving the community while waiting to start his school term at LASALLE College of the Arts.

Syazwina

Syazwina will be graduating from LASALLE College of the Arts in August 2024 with her Diploma in Music. When she was a student at ITE College Central and a member of ITE Show Choir, Syazwina performed in ITE Vocal Xchange 2017-2019 and participated in the Busan Choral Festival & Competition 2019.
