The spring season is one bursting with life, vibrancy, fresh hopes and new beginnings. Join mezzo soprano Priscilla Fong and soprano Tina Lee on this collaborative musical journey and be enchanted by an array of songs exploring the charm of budding love. Love blossoms in the heart as flowers bloom in spring, but unlike the transience of flowers, love that is true deepens into something sacred and enduring. Centering around these themes of young love and the beauty of spring, Love Blossoms will feature a variety of music, from musical theatre to German lied and French art songs.
Priscilla Fong
The thrill of story-telling propelled Singaporean mezzo soprano Priscilla Fong into the world of classical singing at age 16. After graduating top of her class at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS), she completed her postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, supported by the National Arts Council Arts Scholarship. Opera roles include Dorabella (Cosi fan tuttè), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Meg Page (Falstaff), among others. Also a collaborative pianist, she has finished a season as a pianist in the RNCM Songsters – musicians who specialise in song repertoire performing concerts throughout the year.
Tina Lee
For soprano Tina Lee, the joy of singing was sparked when she performed her first public solo at the age of six. After graduating magna cum laude with her BS degree in Music Education (Voice), she completed a master’s degree in Church Music (Voice & Composition) from Bob Jones University in the USA. Tina has performed as a classical soloist in multiple recitals, competitions, masterclasses and as soprano soloist in Mozart’s Missa Brevis. Highlights of her choral experience include performances of Verdi’s Il Trovatore, Verdi’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah and Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. For the past seven years, Tina has devoted most of her time to instilling in her students a love for singing and sharing the beauty of music with those around them.
