The Samrah Club brings you classical Arabic music from Egypt and the Levantine from the 1950s to ’60s. The title of the programme, Alf Leila wa Leila, is inspired by the song composed by Umm Kalthum, which means ‘1,001 Nights’, and was the highlight of an era which spawned many evergreen, famous songs. Featuring music by Umm Kalthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Fairuz and many more.
The Samrah Club
The Samrah Club is a versatile Arabic cover band with a repertoire that spans from music from the Gulf, Yemen and the Levantine. The group has been together since 2008, and has performed in many cultural and community events over the past few years.
