YAØ: “In Waves”

YAØ is a singer-songwriter emerging from the restless neighbourhoods of Singapore who has been making waves around the region and beyond. The rising multihyphenate’s (singer-songwriter-producer) musical confections sound like a love child of urban soul and contemporary pop, blending his love for R&B, pop and hip hop.

An early career flirtation with Japanese city pop has seen him catapult into the pop music fan’s hemisphere with his retro-inflected 2018 single Scenery. He released his debut EP Love & City Lights in September 2019 to critical acclaim by Singapore music press and radio stations. He would later sign on to Universal Music from 2021 to 2023 and has since released classics such as I Can't Sleep and Lose Face which has made it to Viral 50 Singapore. He has also gone on to pick up Spotify's Top Radar Artist SG & MY award in 2022.
