Meet the East and West: An eXchAnge between sitar & guitar

Susanta Chowdhury is a consummate artiste and teacher, whose playing on his chosen instrument, the sitar has been described “divinely inspired”. Susanta received his M.A. Music from Delhi University where he was a Gold Medallist. He is also an “A” Grade artist of All India Radio and TV and has toured extensively, and is currently an educator at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society, Singapore. Today, Susanta’s reputation in the world of music as a versatile and innovative Indian musician has been firmly established. 

Isuru Wijesoma is a Singaporean-Sri Lankan guitarist who has been playing for over 20 years. He has honed his craft in both Western and Indian classical styles and has even created a custom double-neck guitar that allows him to seamlessly switch between the two styles. Isuru's talents have taken him to numerous venues across Singapore and around the world, where he has captivated audiences with his unique blend of musical styles and innovative approach to guitar playing. Isuru’s debut album, Third Culture, was released last year and its available on all streaming platforms.
