The Havana Social Club specialises in Cuban music from Latin America and aims to expose Asia and the world to the Cuban culture and its music. The club also pays homage to the Buena Vista Social Club, a driving force that significantly introduced Cuban music to a global audience.

 

Members of the Havana Social Club hail from Cuba, Singapore, Venezuela and the USA and they all share a passion for the sound and vibrancy of Cuban and Latin music.

 

The Havana Social Club has performed at several venues in Singapore including the Blu Jazz café, Esplanade’s da:ns festival 2013, Fullerton Hotel, Light Up Festival 2015, Singapore Food Festival 2015, Singapore Jazz Festival 2014 and 2016, Singapore River Festival 2015, The Sultan Jazz Club and The Shangri-La Hotel. Around the region, they’ve performed at Medini Live festival 2015 (Malaysia), No Black Tie Jazz Club (Malaysia), Publika Jazz Festival 2013 (Malaysia) and Ljen Summer Jazz Festival 2016 (Indonesia) among others.

 

The Havana Social Club is founded by Cuban drummer and percussionist, Pablo Calzado Morales.
