Synopsis

Join the team presenting Confluence as they provide an insight into Bharatanatyam—a south Indian classical dance form where both personal and mythical tales are told through beautiful hand gestures, emotions and technical footwork, supported by a live Carnatic music ensemble. This form of dance has its roots in ancient India, and embodies the song of the spirit, always endeavouring for the infinite, and yet tempered with very human qualities, and thus still remains relevant, alive, and well-practiced today.

The team presenting Confluence is led by Bharatanatyam dancers PN Vikas (faculty of SIFAS), and Janaki Nair (Bharathanatyam), supported musically by: PK Geethanadhan (Nattuvangam), Sai Akileshwar (Mridangam), Sai Vigneshwar (Vocal) and Pavan Sughosh (Violin).
