Sun Cell

The solo project of farmer-turned-music producer Daryl Hor, Sun Cell produces synth-driven new wave, post-punk influenced alternative music. Initially known for his engineering work for local acts like Royal Estate and more recently RENE, Daryl was pursuing a Recording Arts degree at Full Sail University before a premature departure from the U.S. amidst the pandemic. Stuck at home, he began writing and producing his own music in his bedroom.

Drawing from the visceral nature of the ’80s new wave, the lush soundscapes of more recent chillwave inspirations, and folk-inspired harmonized vocals that explore themes of yearning, retrospection and melancholia, Sun Cell creates a sound that seeks to invoke both a nostalgia for days gone, and a yearning for days to come.
