Synopsis

Fusing complex melodic bass and drums, with elements of mathrock, new-age and chill-hop, Altoduo is here to take you on a fresh “chillax” experience. Their tunes would take you from the aesthetics of a summer breeze to an urban nocturne, depicting a vulnerable and down-to-earth side of them, whilst revealing their conceptual nature in their songwriting.

Altoduo is a fun, experimental, instrumental mathrock-chillhop-newage band based in Singapore, focusing mainly on bass and drums. They are a collaborative product of fusion musicians Winifred Tan and John Paul Kwan, and includes sessionists Nicole Tay & Jonathan Tu for live performances. Their unique musical expressions fuse melodic bass lines, complex drumming & jazzy new-age elements.

 

They are signed to Australian-Southeast Asian indie label Dark Escapes Music. The duo has released 14 tracks to date, and have collaborated with artists from Singapore, Indonesia, Germany and the USA. Their unique style has earned widespread attention, having tracks featured on podcasts, music blogs and notable playlists internationally. Their music relates to our emotions.
