Synopsis

Siblings Shruthi and Swathi present a tribute to the legendary composers of Carnatic music, Sri Purandara Dasa, Saint Thyagaraja and Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar, followed by popular compositions of Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiyar.

Singapore sisters Shruthi & Swathi started learning Carnatic vocal and violin at the age of eight from Guru Sushant Parambath and Guru Nellai Ravindran respectively. They both obtained 8th-year diplomas in vocal and violin (awarded Vadya Visharad). Currently, they are undergoing advanced training with Dr K.N. Cherthalai Renganatha Sharma.

 

The duo has performed in multiple cities in India and Singapore. Notably, they had the privilege to perform a vocal concert at Madras Music Academy, (Chennai, 2018) and Sri Neelakantasivan Fine Arts, (Trivandrum, 2019). In Singapore, they have given various performance for SIFAS Kalavaibhavam and Bhaskareeyam. During 2020-2021, they performed many online concerts with Gayathri Fine Arts, USA and Mani Krishnaswami Academy, Chennai. They have also presented an episode of Raga Sangamam on Oli 96.8 FM in 2019.

 

They won prizes in many competitions, including the prestigious NAC competition for violin and Pravasi Bharathiya Award by Indian High Commission in 2018.
