Synopsis

Enjoy a lively set filled with the music of Latin America! Havana Social Club presents a lively set with a wide range of genres, from salsa and bolero to bachata and samba. Look forward to dance songs that feature strong percussion beats and infectious melodies, as well as music from popular contemporary Latin artists and underground musicians.

Advisory:

Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places.  No tickets will be issued. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Havana Social Club is a group that specialise in Cuban music and music from Latin America. The band is motivated by the desire to expose more of Cuban culture and music to Asia and the world.

 

The band has members from Cuba, Singapore, Venezuela and the USA, who all share the passion for the sound and the vibrancy of the Cuban and Latin music.

 

The band also serves as a tribute to the amazing Buena Vista Social Club, which helped spread Cuban music to a wide international audience.

 

Havana Social Club has been together and performing in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur since 2014, at venues such as Blu Jazz Cafe, The Sultan Jazz Club, The Shangri-La Hotel, No Black Tie Jazz Club (Kuala Lumpur), The Fullerton Hotel, da:ns Festival 2013 , Publika Jazz Festival 2013, Singapore Jazz Festival 2014, Singapore Jazz Festival 2016, Singapore River Festival 2015, Light Up Festival 2015, Medini Live Festival 2015 (Malaysia), Singapore Food Festival 2015, Ljen Summer Jazz Festival 2016 (Indonesia) among others.

 

The group was formed by Pablo Calzado Morales, a Cuban drummer and percussionist.
