Esplanade Presents
18 Mar 2026, Wed, 10.30am & 3pm
(Intermission: None)
Esplanade Black Room
There’s danger in the jungle! Children discover how to keep themselves safe and protected in a fun and enlightening children-only workshop.
Held by the Jungle is a children’s workshop that helps young ones explore their bodies as lifelong shelters that protect and guide them.
Like animals relying on instinct, our bodies send signals such as “I feel safe” or “Something isn’t right.” Through storytelling, games, art and movement, children learn to listen to these messages and trust their inner wisdom.
Accompanied by symbolic animal companions, they gently explore emotions such as fear, anger and anxiety, understand how their bodies keep them safe, and practise setting boundaries and providing consent. In this nurturing “jungle,” children discover their bodies as wise, protective allies they can rely on throughout life.
This is a children-only workshop.
Parents can drop off your child 10mins before the workshop and pick them up at same location.
This experience will involve movement around the venue. All participants are advised to be dressed comfortably.
