Hiroaki Maekawa Quintet

Tokyo-born bassist and composer Hiroaki Maekawa is a musician who moves fluidly across genres. Whether drawing from jazz, funk or contemporary music, his compositions are defined by a strong sense of rhythm, unexpected twists and turns, and an insatiable curiosity for new musical possibilities. Over the past two decades, he has performed and collaborated with artists from around the world while developing his own voice as a composer. Hiroaki has released two albums of original compositions with his progressive jazz rock trio, Tokyo Blue, as well as a solo album in 2024.
