Bringing the golden era of big band music to life, the ensemble promises an evening of timeless melodies and audiences grooving to the beat. Expect a high-octane performance that bridges eras and styles, moving seamlessly from the sophisticated swing of Count Basie to explosive, soulful funk arrangements of Earth, Wind & Fire classics.

SWS CIty Swing

The Singapore Wind Symphony (SWS) City Swing Big Band was formed in 2009. The ensemble has established a presence in Singapore’s big band scene and performs a diverse repertoire spanning jazz, swing, Latin, pop, and rock and roll. Its repertoire includes pieces performed across multiple languages, such as English, Malay and Chinese.

 

Under the direction of musical director Mr Subronto Saaban Hardjo, who regularly arranges new material for the ensemble, the band continues to expand its repertoire for audiences.
