Ann Gie
Ann Gie Lee is a Singaporean jazz pianist and composer who discovered her love for jazz during her junior college years. Mentored by Singaporean artists Jeremy Monteiro, Chok Kerong and Tan Wei Xiang, she quickly became an active figure in the Singapore jazz community. She has also performed alongside international artists such as Benny Golson, Lewis Nash, Randy Brecker, Antonio Hart, Alex Sipiagin, and Carmen Bradford.
Her performance credits include many of Singapore’s notable venues, including The Jazz Loft, Maduro, and Esplanade’s annual Jazz in July festival. As both a bandleader and collaborator, Ann Gie is known for her sensitivity, versatility and musical curiosity. Fresh off her graduation from the Masters of Music in Jazz Studies programme at Queens College, City University of New York, she currently leads her own quartet performing original arrangements and compositions, and is also a member of the Neo-soul band Namie and the Waves.
