Esplanade Presents
7 – 23 Mar 2025
(Intermission: None)
Esplanade Courtyard
Welcome to the Itchy Fingers’ collection of interactive installations designed to spark curiosity through fundamental concepts of movement, sound and light.
Play and experiment with everyday objects and materials gathered from the urban and natural landscapes of Singapore’s little island. Expect a sculpture garden of playful creations made from electrical fan parts to coconuts found along the sidewalk!
Short performances and activations take place every Saturday, with free play and exploration from Friday to Saturday.
Children under 10 must be accompanied by caregivers.
Some Club
Some Club began as an artists’ residency first held at Geylang East Public Library with the aims of introducing materiality experiences and natural making as a medium to invite curiosity and explorations of the natural world.
Rooted in wonder, wandering, community discussion and engagements, Some Club seeks to incite new perspectives about the ways we live and the places we live in.
This edition of Some Club features core artists See Yee, Lynette, and Ferry, alongside artist assistants Jessica, Rachel, and Els. Together, they explore the intersections of urban materiality through the lens of natural wayfinding as a means of gathering and making.
Quek See Yee
Is a bit of everything.
Looking forward to being 100% geeky about ideas while having silly good fun. Let me pick your brain please!
Lynette Quek
Is an Audiovisual maker.
I am Lynette. I like eggs. Mostly runny, not so baked. I also like sounds, like ding ding ding.
Ding dong piak dum, please join in.
Ferry
Loves to Cling Clang.
Tear it, pull it, smash it, chuck it in water, chuck it in the sun!
Jessica Heng
Is a thing of impulse.
Jessica is always reading something. She secretly hopes that someone will ask about her current read so she can explain the plot in detail. She is interested to work with children of diverse abilities and explore their curiosities together.
Rachel Cheang
Rachel feels the most joy with her hands in soil, making food with loved ones, connecting communities, discovering and sharing stories, and building spaces for collective learning. She also loves sunny side-ups.
Elspeth Ong
There are faces everywhere...On the yolk of a sunny side-up, in a cloud, on the front of a car... I like looking for these faces!
