The Modern Tradition Quartet

The Modern Tradition Quartet brings together four dynamic voices in Singapore’s jazz scene. Guitarist Joe Lee, a Lasalle first-class honours graduate, has performed with JASSO and legends like Jeremy Monteiro and Louis Soliano. Dr Eugene Seow anchors the group on bass, drawing on his multi-instrumental background and performances from Singapore’s Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay to Wally’s Jazz Café in Boston. Pianist Hans Jonathan Charis blends classical finesse with jazz spontaneity, shaped by mentors Chok Kerong and Joshua Wan. Drummer Benjamin Low adds depth with his wide-ranging influences, fusing jazz, electronic, and classical elements into a distinct rhythmic voice.
