Embark on a courageous journey alongside Hang Tuah, the loyal servant of the Sultan of Melaka, as he ventures to retrieve the Sultan's lost crown from the treacherous waters of the Straits of Singapore. Legend has it that these waters were infested with man-eating crocodiles! Will Hang Tuah succeed in his mission?
This local folktale serves as a rich educational experience for children, imparting lessons on bravery, loyalty, and quick thinking, while igniting a sense of courage for their own adventures. Additionally, children will have the opportunity to craft their own paper keris to take home with them, further enhancing their engagement with the story.
This programme is presented by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in collaboration with Malay Heritage Centre.

Situated in Kampong Gelam, the Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) is a museum that offers cultural exposure and learning experiences about the Malay culture and heritage. While it is presently closed for renovation works, MHC continues to bring a variety of programs to partner venues across Singapore.
The storyteller, Hafiz Rashid, has been MHC’s docent since 2013. He has conducted tours of MHC’s permanent and special exhibitions for various groups of museum visitors and also conducted many storytelling sessions in collaboration with Asian Civilisations Museum, the National Library Board, and other heritage institutions.
