Discover the significance of Hari Raya and some of the delectable dishes enjoyed on this special occasion with Malay Heritage Centre’s storyteller Shahril Samri! Join him as he goes on a hunt for his grandmother’s recipes to whip up a delightful meal for Hari Raya and assemble your very own Raya dish in a hands-on craft activity session.
This programme is presented by Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay in collaboration with Malay Heritage Centre.

The Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) is a museum situated at Kampong Gelam which provides a wealth of cultural exposure and learning experience about Malay culture and heritage. MHC is a vital heritage institution for the Malay community in Singapore.
While it is currently undergoing renovations, MHC continues to bring various programmes and travelling exhibitions to partner venues around Singapore.
Shahril Samri, a storyteller at MHC, is also a preschool teacher in Singapore and founder of Pantunism, a Malay poetry movement in the region. He has performed sessions at MHC and NLB community libraries. He is also the author of Lepiong dan Cepiong Mencari Makan.
